Current Position: Manager – SDN/NFV Infrastructure Planning, Since Sept. 2014

Committed to a massive transformation effort to virtualize a number of wireless and wireline network functions in order to achieve financial and operational efficiencies.

•          Headed a team and managed the SDN/NFV RFI/RFP and produced a catalog of potential technologies/vendors for 100+ Network Functions. This catalog will drive the technology/vendor selection process for 200+ SDN/NFV projects

•          Authored and headed the implementation of a new innovative pricing model for SDN/NFV program with a goal to achieving ~40% reduction in infrastructure spending. This model has been accepted for broader implementation in the company

•          Heading the development of technical requirements for unique metering and charging features for EPC and IMS functions

•          Managing the Sourcing activities for SDN/NFV program. Successfully negotiated several contracts and brought in significant savings within just a few short months. Developed a new financial model for early refreshing of data center infrastructure.

Managed the design, deployment of a number of fiber-optic infrastructure projects. Led a team of engineers to design, install, and maintain transmission systems (SONET/SDH/PDH/PCM). Managed a transport repair center, maintenance contracts and P/L.

 

Alcatel – BPL Telecom, India, Manager – Telecom (1/90 - 1/92)

Managed a team of engineers to design and deploy Switching and Transport products. Worked with R&D to change the product design and conduct field trials for new products. Managed support-on-demand and annual service contract business
